MISSION STATEMENT

Junipero Serra School is a Catholic community which establishes its Christian environment on the message of the Gospel and the teachings of the Catholic Church.  We are committed to educating the whole child and developing the unique potential of each in the Spirit of Jesus, which is one of love, joy, and service.

STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY

We at Junipero Serra School are committed to providing a comprehensive education in the Catholic tradition.  We seek to create a Christian environment in which we respond to the needs of the whole child.  We foster self-esteem, self discipline, and a spirit of cooperation.  We nurture an understanding and sensitivity to all people by encouraging reverence and respect for each person.  We affirm the worth and dignity of each individual.  As teachers we share this vision of education with the school community.  We recognize our responsibility to support parents in their role as the primary educators of their children.

Through our value-oriented curriculum we provide the opportunity for each student’s spiritual, intellectual, psychological, social, physical, and aesthetic growth.  We guide students toward responsible, moral decision-making in a world of challenged Christian values.
